5 Signs Your Dog Is Your Best Friend
By: Morgan Blain

My dogs are my best friends and I have come to terms with the fact that I enjoy their presence more than I enjoy human presence. Dogs are the epitome of a true friend and they love you unconditionally no matter what the circumstances. A best friend is someone that you can go to when you are feeling low, gives hugs when you need it the most, and would truly take a bullet for you. If that doesn't explain my dogs, than I don't know what does.

So if you are experiencing these five signs, your dog may very well be your best friend.

1. You Tell Your Dog Secrets:

I'd be lying if I said I never sat down with my dog, just us two, and told a secret or two. Dogs are great listeners and give you their feedback with a cute little tilt of the head. Even if you told them that they were adopted, they would look at you with the most accepting stare. They are the best conversationalists, one because they don't talk back, and two because you know they will never tell a soul.

2.You Take Selfies:

I've taken more selfies with my dogs than I'd like to admit. They turn an otherwise boring, simple smiling picture into a silly, cute-as-can-be picture that is acceptable to post everywhere. A selfie becomes so much more interesting when a cute little dog is in it and technically taking a picture with your dog doesn't count as a selfie, it becomes a group picture! Not only are they great at taking selfies, but they are the perfect models for a photo shoot because they are just so photogenic and adorable.

3.You Celebrate Your Dog's Birthday:

You wouldn't forget your best friend's birthday, so why would you not acknowledge your dog's birthday? They are turning another year older and another year wiser, so I always celebrate their life, because honestly, they keep me young! Pupcakes, new toys, and birthday hats are also present and you sing happy birthday to them as if they can actually understand the words. And also, there is an abundance of photo opportunities on their big day!

4. You talk about your dog more than you talk about yourself:

I am constantly keeping my friends, family and basically anyone I meet, up to date on how my dogs are doing. My dog turned one and it's a big deal, so I will let all of my Facebook friends know about it. My dog got a new sweater, so obviously I'm going to post a picture of him in it. My dogs snuggle together in their bed and I can't stand it, so I'm going to let everyone know because I can and I want to show them off to the world.

5. At the end of the day, they are your biggest fans:

They mean the world to you, and you know that they feel the same way about you. No matter how the day played out, no matter what you've been through, no matter how tired, exhausted and upset you are, your dogs will always be there, waiting for you with a warm snuggle. Warm puppy snuggles at the end of the day make every day worthwhile.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
