One of the hardest things about getting an education is, well, actually how you get it. People have different preferences that fall within the three typical learning groups: visual, auditory and kinesthetic (touch). No doubt, I am a visual learner, like many. Here are a few of the learning essentials and tendencies we have.
1. Flashcards are your favorite study tool
What better place to keep every word and definition? Term and detailed description?
2. Pictures and graphs = secret crushes
We would probably say yes if a graph proposed to us, to be completely honest. When test day comes, we turn our brain switches on and project the image.
3. Sticky Notes...everywhere
In your agenda, on the wall, at the sink, etc...it may seem pathetic and rather excessive, but how else are you going to remember anything? One peek equals one more chance of acing that question!
4. You'd win a staring contest any day
A typical study session may look like this: two minutes pass while staring at a PowerPoint slide then the two minutes are spent on the next one...until the PowerPoint is done. And repeat.
5. Acronyms are pretty G.R.E.A.T.
It's simple: remember a word. One word. Write it down, and let the remembering begin. How do we remember a bunch of words out of just using one? Who knows and who cares, because it sure works!
The life of a visual learner in a nutshell is, well, just as it looks.
