As you rolled out of bed this morning, after hitting snooze a handful of times, your mind thought back upon the last week of your existence: the week of Thanksgiving Break.
As you envisioned glorious mounds of turkey and pumpkin pie, the thought of walking to your 8:00 A.M. or driving to work sounded merely perilous. Suddenly, you realized that you may be suffering from Thanksgrieving.
1. You contemplated crying as you ate the last mouthful of stuffing
The only thing better than Thanksgiving dinner, is Thanksgiving dinner leftovers. If it's free and delicious, it's absolutely cry-worthy.
2. Your only comfort is the thought of Christmas Break
"Only three more weeks," you tell yourself, every few minutes. Although you enjoyed dropping your responsibilities for a week, dropping them for the entire month of January sounds even better!
3. You scroll through your camera roll a dozen times
As nostalgia sets in even harder, you spend countless minutes of your day staring at the pictures from break. From pictures with your dog child, to group pictures of the entire fam-bam, your heart longs to rewind time to those exact moments.
4. Your pants fit a little tighter, but you're secretly okay with it
Who cares that you helped yourself to seconds or thirds and ate an entire pumpkin pie single-handed? You'll surely start that new workout program tomorrow, anyway!
5. Your heart is full (akin to your stomach)
As you think back upon the past week of your life, you're smiling so hard that it hurts. Although you adored being off of class and eating until your heart's content, nothing beats quality family-time.
If you find yourself suffering from Thanksgrieving, dig deep, sing a Christmas carol or two, and push through finals week! Christmas break will be upon us before we know it!
