You’ve finally made it through three and a half years of college! You studied hard, (hopefully) have a job locked up, and are ready to enjoy your last semester of college. Here are some telltale signs that senioritis has hit you hard.
1. You refuse to even utter the awful “G” word.
People keep asking you about your plans after graduation and you refuse to even dignify them with a response. You debate if refusing to purchase a cap and gown will be a strong enough statement on your refusal to leave school. It makes you sad to think that you’ll have to invest money into a work wardrobe and that you actually have to start being a functioning adult, so you refuse to acknowledge the impending ceremony.
2. You have stopped caring about your grades.
Whether you’re taking "power walking" for fitness or "metal works," you probably don’t care anymore. You know you should, but you just can’t find it in yourself to put in any extreme amounts of effort. If you already have a job locked down, your motivation is basically completely gone. You often find yourself wondering, “What is homework?” or “How did I study so hard for so many years?"
3. Your fashion choices have become a little questionable.
Gone are the days when you used to wake up early to shower and curl your hair before your 8 a.m. class. Now, most days you can be found hanging around in leggings and work out tops, giving off the vibe that you are very into physical fitness, whether that’s true or not. You also have committed to a casual hairstyle of a low messy bun and a baseball hat most days unless you have something important going on.
4. You stop caring about petty things.
You’ve gotten to the point in your college career where you don’t care to be a part of the drama anymore. You have stopped caring about people’s opinions of you and have instead started to channel your energy into having fun and actually enjoying your last semester. If you have a problem with someone, you’re ready to put it behind you and get rid of all that negative energy. What a freeing experience!
5. Your procrastination habit has gotten even worse
When you used to care about school and your classes, procrastination was something you struggled with. Now that you have stopped putting in effort, your procrastination has gotten even worse. You have started to binge watch Netflix the night before an exam and only study for 10 minutes. You have also begun to use your laptop for literally anything other than studying. Your professors may think you’re taking notes in class, but you’re actually looking through old pictures on your computer or looking for recipes to make on Pinterest.
Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy the rest of senior year and get enough of a hold on your procrastinating to actually study for your finals.
