5 Signs You Grew Up In Historic Willoughby
Downtown Willoughby

Growing up in a small town like Willoughby there was always something to do. Many memories have been created and are constantly being created. Willoughby is a small town with passion. Here are just 5 of the many signs that you grew up in Historic Downtown Willoughby.

1. Once A Rebel Always A Rebel

You will continue to cheer on your alma mater. You will always remember packing in the Willoughby South High Stadium to cheer on your Rebels. Friday nights would not be the same without the cannon going off every time the Rebels would score. You will never forget the phrase "Go South, Beat North".

2. Historic Downtown Willoughby

Endless memories of going to downtown Willoughby to the restaurants, ice-cream shops, the different antique stores, and how could us kids forget homecoming/prom pictures in the gazebo. Downtown Willoughby would not be the same without the old store signs still hanging up above the current stores, restaurants and bars.

3. Willoughby Outdoor Market

Summer saturday mornings would not be the same without the outdoor market. The outdoor market is famous for the fresh food, cookies, honey sticks, and knick knacks. Families gathering in the city hall parking lot was always a sign that summer was here.

4. Outdoor Events That Take Place

Downtown Willoughby is Famous for the rib burn off, chili cook off, car cruise in, art fest, last stop Willoughby, and the tree lighting. We are all use to the streets of Downtown Willoughby being closed for these annual events.

5. The Famous Ghost Stories

Willoughby has plenty of history that takes place and many historical “haunted” places. We are use to seeing the ghost walks taking place at night in the summer. Some historic places they go include the Willoughby Coal Supply building, the cemetery in Downtown Willoughby, Willoughby-Eastlake Tech Center and the Charter One Bank.

Growing up in Downtown Willoughby was always an adventure. So many memories have been created with my friends and family. Even though I am away at Lake Erie College, I still make frequent trip to Downtown Willoughby. I love sharing my hometown with my friends at school. Historic Downtown Willoughby has a small town feeling that can not be replaced. Everyone needs to experience a night out in Willoughby, a festival, walking the strip for the events that take place every year.

So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
