Finals week is a love/hate relationship for all college students. You're almost done with the semester, and your four-week break free of stress and homework before second semester is so close you can almost smell it. Almost. There are just a few, tedious exams standing in your way. Here are six signs that finals week is approaching, and fast:
Recommended for you
1. Every time someone mentions school work, you have a mini panic attack.
Did I have something due? When did I have to submit my final paper? Anytime someone says that they're studying or working on an assignment, you almost automatically question whether you had something due. It's natural, and it's stress caused by the anxiously awaited finals week.
2. Even when you don't have anything to do, you still have something to do.
Your regular exams have all been conquered, you've finished all your homework, and yet...you still feel like you have something you should be doing. Like studying...for those four finals...all in the the same week.
3. You live off of caffeine, even more than usual.
If you're like me, caffeine is a god-send, especially during finals week. All you know is to drink coffee, study, attempt to sleep, and repeat.
4. You feel completely overwhelmed. And tired. All. The. Time.
Finals week, for most people, is more stressful than normal, because basically all of your classes have finals or a paper due during the same week. Studying for one exam at a time is hard enough, so studying for four at one time is surely something to stress about.
5. At some point, you just want to give up. And at one point, you just might.
Your body and mind can only handle so much. Never push yourself to exhaustion, because you still have to make it past the studying part and take the actual exam. At the end of the day, it's still a grade. It's not the end of the world. If you need to call it quits, do what your body and mind needs.
