5 Shows To Binge-Watch This Summer On Netflix

If you are not the adventuring type and you get your daily thrills by laying in bed cuddled up in a blanket watching Netflix, then boy do I have some important information for you. As an avid Netflix watcher and lover of TV myself, I have settled on a few shows that I think are worth giving a watch this summer. Whether you love sci-fi or romantic comedies, these series have it all. Give the list a look-see, give it a watch, and be prepare to not leave your bed for a solid few weeks.

The 100

"The 100" is a CW show that only has two seasons on Netflix. Without giving anything away, the show is set in a dystopian future where life on Earth ended and the remaining people alive now live on a space ship called the Arc. After years of surviving in space, the Arc sends down 100 teenage prisoners to see if the atmosphere and ground are livable. The shows follows the lives of these teens after landing on the ground. It is cutting edge with many twists and turns as well as love triangles and drama. Don't worry if this isn't the normal show that you gravitate towards. It is the exact opposite of shows I normally watch and I couldn't stop until I was finished with all the seasons.

Friends

While this may seem like an obvious choice, I feel like most people have only seen scattered episodes and "Friends" is a show that every person should watch all the way through in their lifetime. If you didn't know already, "Friends" centers around 5 people who lives intertwined and became best friends in New York City. The characters are all in their late 20's and are extremely relatable. The show is easy to watch, hilarious, heartwarming, and everything you could want in a sit-com. A classic choice is always the way to go.

The Flash

Again, throwing in another curve ball here, but "The Flash" is definitely worth the watch. "The Flash" is another CW show(sensing a pattern here) and is about the life of Barry Allen. This superhero drama is loosely based off the comic and has been made into an extremely entertaining TV show. While Barry is very easy on the eyes, the show has many other components going for it. There is romance, action, drama, and comedy. It is another show that I would not typically turn on, but after the first episode, I was hooked. The characters are very likable and the storyline from episode to episode always keep you guessing.

Parenthood

I have watched a lot of shows in my short 20 years on this earth, and "Parenthood" is one of my top favorites. This TV drama is a little bit more on the serious side and follows the lives of The Braverman family. There are three separate families within the Braverman clan and they unite through their parents and fellow family members. Each family has their own extremely complex story lines and it is interesting to see the way they all connect. The show is the most real portrayal of a family I have ever seen on a television. It will make you laugh, cry(a little too hard) and really develop an emotional attachment to the characters.

Love

Of all the shows on my list this is for sure the funniest. "Love" is a Netflix original, which is already enough of an indicator that it's worth a watch. It was created by Judd Apatow, the director of movies like "Knocked Up" and "This is 40". The humor is on par with his other films, it's extremely witty and satirical in the best way possible. The characters are complicated in very different ways, but at the same time so relatable with viewers. The show follows two characters journey of losing and finding love. I think it is a show every 20-something should watch whether they are already in love or searching for it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
