There are hundreds of anime to watch these days. From action, to horror, to comedy they consume peoples' lives. I am partial to romantic anime, but not fruity romantic anime where the two characters are shipped together, but never really get together. My fellow anime nerds understand what shows I'm talking about. These are my favorite romantic animes that actually have a romance story that is moving forward. I could probably add more to this list, but I'm not done watching said animes yet. I need to make sure the endings are to my standards before adding them to my list. If you're into realistic romance anime make sure to check these five out! Comment your favorite anime down below in the comments.

Say "I love you." (Sukitte Ii na yo)

This anime is one of my favorites. Mei Tachibana was a regular girl who enjoyed hanging out with her friends, but after all her friends backstabbed her Mei's idea of friendship changed forever. In order to stop herself from ever going through the same awful experience again, she decides to stay away from people. It was working out well until the appearance of Yamato Kurosawa who is able to tear down some of Mei's walls, starts to change her view on friends and relationships.

Yamato does not ignore her like everyone else seems to do, and he decides to give her his phone number! As their relationship slowly develops with the start of an unexpected kiss, Mei finds it hard to open up to her new friends and how to express her true feelings towards Yamato. Sukitte Ii na yo. follows their relationship and shows how difficult it can really be to say "I love you."

Itazura na Kiss

Kotoko Aihara life changes when her house is destroyed and she is forced to share a house with the school's smartest and most popular male student, Naoki Irie. Kotoko knows all about Irie-kun; she previously had given him a love letter before the traumatic disaster that involved her home. Throw in a friend who is in love with her and a meddlesome mother-in-law, Kotoko struggles to get Irie-kun's attention for the right reasons. Kotoko knows what she wants and she is willing to fight for it.

Maid-Sama!

Misaki Ayuzawa is the first female president at her new High School that was once an all boys school recently turned co-ed. She is nicknamed "Demon President" by the boys for her strict disciplinary style. She is not afraid to cast judgment onto the misbehaving boys and defend the girls at Seika High School. She continuously takes the girls' side even when the boys are right.

Ayuzawa has an embarrassing secret, though - she works part-time as a maid at a maid café to help her struggling family pay the bills. She has managed to keep her job hidden from school students and maintained her flawless image until, Takumi Usui, the most popular boy in school, walks into the maid café. He could destroy her reputation with her secret. As he takes an interest in her follow their relationship as it develops over the obstacles thrown at them.

Wolf Girl and Black Prince

Erika Shinohara's mistake begins when she takes a picture of a boy who she believes she will never see again. She uses his picture as the face of her nonexistent boyfriend and flaunts him to her friends. Her friends easily recognize the boy as the popular and kind-hearted Kyouya Sata. Erika explains her problem to Kyouya, thinking he will pretend to be her boyfriend so that she avoids embarrassment, but Kyouya is not the kind, heartthrob he appears to be. In reality, he is a mean-spirited sadist who forces Erika to become his "dog" in exchange for keeping her secret.

Kimi ni Todoke

A girl named Kuronuma Sawako who is nicknamed Sadako (ghost girl from "The Ring") by her classmates because of her scary face and demeanor isn't all that she seems. She greatly admires Kazehaya-kun from afar, who is able to draw in people with his kind and sweet personality. Despite her facial expressions, she yearns to make friends and live as a normal student. Gradually, she starts to affect those around her, including Kazehaya-kun, who see's a side of Sadako that no one else sees.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
