Must Try Restaurants in San Diego

I left for college a little over a week ago and as excited as I am for the next chapter, there are definitely things I’ll miss. Here are 5 restaurants that if you’re ever in San Diego you must try:

Wow Wow Waffle

I just tried this restaurant for the first time this past summer after a few friends suggested it and it was by far the BEST waffle I’ve ever had. I had the Fresh N Light waffle but my friend had The Jam and loved it. If you’re a waffle fan, check this place out.

Sushiya

Cheap, great sushi. It's always filled with high school and college students. My roll preference is the Chuck roll but honestly, they’re all good.

Point Loma Seafoods

A seafood market and one of locals favorite restaurants. A bit expensive, but if you want fresh seafood it’s the way to go. My go to is the crab sandwich.

Carnitas Snack Shack

San Diego is known for Mexican food and this place is a must try.

Sushi Ota

If my parents ever let me choose somewhere for a “special occasion,” this is my choice. It’s the best sushi you’ll have, but it is expensive.

Saffron

The best Thai food. Hands down. My favorite is the Pad See Ew, but you can’t really go wrong here.

Yoshino

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants. There’s better sushi, but the sesame chicken is a personal favorite. My mom’s favorite is the salmon teriyaki so if you don’t like fish, the chicken is definitely the way to go.

Burger Lounge

If you don’t want a “fast food” burger, Burger Lounge is awesome. Also, it’s a bit healthier because it’s grass fed! Score!

OB Noodle House

OB Noodle House is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. The chicken wings are the best you’ve ever had and once you’ve had them, no other comes close.

Venetian

Outside of Little Italy, Venetian has the best pizza in San Diego. It’s a local favorite. If you don’t like pizza, the chicken cacciatore is awesome.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
