Self-described as a "six foot two giraffe from the Lou" Karlie Kloss is more than meets the eye. You probably recognize her from her many campaigns that range from Swarovski to Adidas and her status in Taylor Swift's Girl Squad, but she does so many more things you may not know about. Besides her stunning looks and famous friends, here are 5 more reasons to love Karlie Kloss.

1. She started a summer camp for girls to learn to code.

In 2016, the Kode with Klossy Camp Scholarship provided 60 girls ages 13-18 from across the country the opportunity to learn to code and build apps using professional software engineering tools. She also has a Kode with Klossy Career Scholarship that is given to one woman each month to work through Flatiron School’s online Full Stack Web Development curriculum.

2. She bakes Kookies for charity.

In 2012, Karlie collaborated with chef Christina Tosi and Monofuku Milk Bar to create Karlie’s Kookies, which have since been rebranded to Klossies. The cookies are gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. Basically, the healthiest cookies to exist. Not only are they delicious, but the proceeds from each tin of cookies sold supports a different charity. The Perfect 10 Kookies provide 10 school lunches to hungry children around the world, the Coco supports young American fashion designers, and the 5boro provides 5 meals to hungry New Yorkers.

3. She goes to college.

In 2015, at the end of her contract, Karlie left her as role an Angel at Victoria's Secret to free up time to go to school. Karlie is currently enrolled in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University.

4. She is #fitnessgoals.

Whether it be kickboxing, running, yoga, or dance class with Taylor Swift, Karlie is always good for a #fitnessfriday Instagram post and #fitnessfriYAY Snapchats. Seeing her workout posts inspire you to switch up your own workout routine and try something new.

5. She makes it all look easy.

If you follow Karlie on Snapchat you know she is always on the move. Her extremely successful modeling career takes her all over the world, in addition, she runs 2 scholarship programs, bakes, works out daily, makes YouTube videos for her channel "Klossy", and goes to college. If only we could all-time manage as well as Karlie. #LikeAKloss

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
