5 Reasons You Should Add A Chapter To Your Story

Coming up this weekend is the University of Cincinnati's formal recruitment. starting Friday night hundreds of women will take the chance of finding their forever home. I can't express how exciting this experience is. I spent my freshman year at The University of Alabama, where I went through the largest Greek recruitment process in the nation with thousands of women. Talk about overwhelming. My freshman year I found my forever home in Gamma Phi Beta, that home eventually followed me through my transferring process to the University of Cincinnati. Even here at UC, I've never felt more welcomed by my sisters. I can honestly say that going through recruitment was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Here's some reasons you should make it one of your best decisions too!

1. Even if you don't think you're the "sorority type" there's a home for you.

I never pictured myself in a sorority, I'm not girly or crafty, but you'll quickly find out there's a lot of us who aren't. Being in a sorority isn't all about glitter and bow ties, we love to have fun!

2.You'll find your best friends forever.

Joining a sorority has given me some of my absolute best friends. Women I can always count on and share the same values with.

3. My sorority helps me to be the best I can be.

I've never been great at school, but I have an amazing support system and so many people to ask for help. If I'm struggling I have someone there to always help me along.

4. You get to help with something you're passionate about.

Every sorority has a philanthropy they're passionate about. We hold events to raise money for our philanthropy, which always end up being a ton of fun.

5. You'll find your forever home.

You'l find a place you'll always feel welcomed, and loved. You'll find women you can count on, women who will always support you.

I've found some of the most amazing women during my journey through Gamma Phi Beta and have had the best experiences with this sorority. I couldn't be more thankful for these women. So take the chance at your forever home and sign up for formal recruitment this weekend. You wont regret it!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
