5 Reasons You Need Netflix in Your Life
Netflix

The year of 2016 is winding down to an end and it’s hard to find someone who doesn't have access to a Netflix account. But if you are one of the very few people that are still on the fence about joining the popular on-demand television and movie streaming service I am here to make the decision very easy for you. You need it in your life! Here are 5 reasons why I love Netflix and you should too.

1. It’s Cheap!

Having a streaming services like Netflix as your main source of television will save you big in the long run if you want to do away with your cable service all together. If you are someone that doesn't have cable to begin with this option is a cheap way to experience your favorite shows without having to join a cable company.

2. The Selection.

Netflix has thousands of movies and television shows to chose from; unlike cable networks where if there isn't anything to watch on the channels you're screwed. With most cable networks, yes you do have the option to watch certain programs on-demand but usually at an additional fee. With Netflix everything is included with your monthly rate. So anything you're in the mood for can be watched without having to worry about getting a surprise on your bill.

3. Easy Access.

Unlike cable you can take Netflix anywhere. If you have a device capable of streaming (i.e smart phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) and an internet connection you can watch Netflix. It’s great for long car rides, boring college lectures and even breaks at work. I was watching it while in the bath just before I wrote this. True story.

4. NO COMMERCIALS!

Need I say more?

5. Time Waster.

Now that might sound like a bad thing but hear me out. Sometimes I just need a break. I am a full time college student with a job and I’m a mentor. Between homework, school, mentoring and working I start to feel overwhelmed. When I do get some time to myself I want to turn of my brain and just be entertained and Netflix allows me to do that. I can relax and unwind from the stressful past week and prepare to go through the same thing next week. So thank God for Netflix! Without you Netflix my nights would oh so boring and sad.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
