5 Reasons Why You Should Cut Your Hair

I know that getting rid of your long hair is hard, trust me. Once I cut my hair in the 11th grade from my mid back to my shoulders and I literally wanted to die every day until my hair grew back to its original length. But, recently, I bit the bullet again. My hair was NASTY. It was super long, tangled, and lacked luster. So I decided I needed to start over, and I cut my hair to my shoulders again. What's crazy is that I LOVE my short hair now! So if you're thinking about cutting your hair or at least getting it trimmed, here are 5 reasons why you should do it!

1. Your hair will feel so much healthier

Before I cut my hair, I had split ends all over the place. Honestly, my hair probably consisted of 98% split ends. These split ends caused my hair to get so knotted and so tangled that it would take me about 10 minutes to brush my hair with intermittent periods of my crying and banging my hairbrush against the sink. Seriously, I had so many split ends that it was distracting me from school. I would sit in class all day gleefully pulling the split ends apart, watching as my hair got nastier and nastier. But once I cut my hair, I could literally feel it glowing. I felt like a new woman! Plus my hair is so short now that I can't even see the dead ends. Now I can pay attention in class!

2. It grows back.

Okay so let's say that you do take my advice and you get your hair cut and it turns out to be just awful. First of all, this is not my fault. Second, it grows back! Just give it a couple more months and you'll be back to normal. Getting a bad haircut isn't the end of the world. So what if you don't leave your house for a few months, at least you can say that you gave it a shot.

3. It can redefine who you are.

Is your look getting a little dull? Are you feeling like "bleh" every day? Do you look like "bleh" every day? Well then maybe you should get a new haircut! Cutting your hair can completely change how you look. Seriously, look at how this haircut changed the way this girl looks:

She looks like a new person! Without all the heavy hair in the front you can see her beautiful eyes and bone structure, creating a light and edgy look.

4. It's easier to maintain.

Don't even try to fight me on this one. Maybe longer hair looks better styled but it literally only takes me 2 minutes to do my hair everyday and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Shorter hair is simply easier to brush, maintain, wash, and keep healthy.

5. You will feel so powerful

There is nothing better than walking down the road with a fresh new hairstyle, lookin' hot, feelin' great, and making everyone drool. You'll feel so powerful every time you step out of your house because you KNOW that you are rocking this new hairstyle and you KNOW that you look hot af. Getting a haircut that you love is one of the best confidence boosters that you will ever have!

I know that cutting your hair can be scary but maybe it's time to try something new! I know that I love my new haircut (see below)!
