5 Reasons Why You Should Become a Fan of Jake Miller
Dani Rafuse

July 2, 2013 I was driving home from work and I listening to the radio per usual. There was a song called "A Million Lives" and I really enjoyed it so I shazamed it (an app that tells you what the song title is by listening to the song) and found it was written by Jake Miller.

I then proceeded to do a little more research on the artist. At this time he was not that big and he did not release an album yet but had a few EP's (electronic playlist’s) out. I was on his YouTube channel for over an hour listening to his music and I got hooked. Four months later in November of that year, he released his first album and I purchased it and memorized it in a week’s time.

On November 10, 2013 I finally got the experience to see him live in concert here in Boston, MA with a friend of mine. This night changed my life forever and my love for Jake Miller as an artist grew. A rising artist like Jake , needs fans to grow and there are a handful of reasons why people should listen to him and become a fan.

1. One of the reasons you should become a fan of him is his interaction with fans on social media.

Jake Miller is very active on social media especially Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. For instance, on July 12, 2014, Jake followed me on Twitter which was another happy day for me. When fans tweet at him, he gets back to them and is also very active with other celebrities. When it comes to Snapchat, Jake always give you the inside scoop on his life. He gives you access to; behind the scenes of his new music, studio visits, award shows that he attends or even when is at the club with his friends. Jake acts like a regular guy when it comes to social media.

2. Another reason would be his lyrics.

In the beginning, a lot of his songs were about his relationship with his high school sweetheart, Madison Bertini. Now Jake has grown up and his music has matured a lot. On his album, "Us Against Them", his song A Million Lives, was one of the biggest hits and most relatable song. In this song he talks letters involving about a young fans brother passing away, a child with cancer and how they helped him become the artist he is today.

Also, in his song "First Flight Home" it talks about how someone wishes they could come home and it talks about what people deal with in long distance relationships and people in the military. The song that has influenced me the most would be Ghost. "Trust me, you are not the only one, life has only just begun, just remember that you're not alone" His lyrics are more than just lyrics they are lessons and it lets people relate to them.

3. His concerts are like a huge party.

When I went to my first concert I was amazed because Jake Miller knows how to put on a show. He knows how to get a crowd pumped up because he does a lot of crazy dances and his songs are up beat. I felt like I was at a party because I just kept jumping up and down it. I have been to five Jake Miller concerts in total, and at every show he has brought a fan to help assist him on stage. Some fans helped him rap a certain part in a song or it was to dance with him on stage. Not a lot of artists do this at every show and it is one reason why I love Jake Miller.

4. His Story.

Jake Miller grew up in Weston, Florida and growing up he was a bag boy at a super market called Publix. He taught himself how to play the drums and the guitar. With this knowledge, he then posted videos on YouTube which got people to learn who he was and it caught the eye of some people who were higher up in the music business. His first show was opening up for Snoop Dogg and his career went up from there. Currently, the artist has a record deal with Warner Brothers music and is continuing to make music in L.A.

5. His love for his family.

Jake is the oldest of two children, with his little sister Jenny. He is the child of Bruce and Lee Miller. Since Jake is very active on social media, he posts a lot about his family, he posts screenshots of conversations with his parents, and posts a lot of pictures of them on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. A lot of celebrities don’t really post about their personal and family life but Jake is the opposite. He makes you feel like he is a regular person.

Jake Miller, is a very unique artist which people should become a fan of. Since social media is very popular, he uses that to his advantage to connect to his fans on a personal level. All five of these reasons are great examples of why you should become a fan of him. Check him out on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter @jakemilleryoutube: millertime2892 and snapchat: jmillermusic!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
