5 Reasons Why You Should Be Part Of A Book Club

Because drinking away your day together is much better than alone.

Book Clubs are pretty great, especially when you're in a great one where it's not always about the book you've picked. Sometimes it's being able to just get away from your work week, talk a lot with friends, and just drink your weekend away. Book Clubs are basically just a group of people who share an interest in reading, talking, or just drinking (it really depends on who you're with!) So here are just a few reasons why you should be in a Book Club!!

1. You can get away from your life for a moment.

Honestly, just being away from life, your work, and sometimes even your kids and significant other (if you have them) is a great way to relax. If you don't happen to talk about the book, but you've been able to just relax with friends for an hour without worrying over what you're going to make tomorrow is pretty great!

2. You spend a lot of time drinking.

Honestly, one of the best parts about Book Clubs (You can't even deny it) is that you can just drink. You don't have to go crazy, but a way for you to relax more is with a nice glass of something to take the edge off, and probably start breaking out in song...

3. You get to meet some pretty great people.

If you know them already, it makes it so much easier to get into a conversation. If not, you've got that handy glass of wine to help give you the courage to spark up something! Once you've gotten the book talk out of the way, everything else if purely just for fun! Whether you break out some sort of dirty game, or singing to Taylor Swift, at the end of the night, you're already set for the next meet up!

4. You can eat whatever you want, and not have to share or feel guilty.

For one night, you get to drink and eat whatever you want without feeling guilty or feel like you have to share anything. (you know your S/O will want those chocolate covered almonds...) For one night, you can stuff your face with any and all types of food, and become your old sixteen year old self, where nothing mattered except for the outfit you would wear the next day...

5. You don't always have to read the book*.

*Depending on the book club you're in...

So depending on the book club you're part of, you don't always have to read the book. There are a lot of book clubs lately that are more about getting together and talking about books you have read, and to get new recommendations to add to your To Be Read (TBR) than actually talking about a book that you all had to read together. More often than not, the book choice is also not what you've been wanting to read, so having something that everyone can agree on, makes it a lot easier as well.

So whether you agree with one or all of these reasons, being part of a book club now is so much better and more entertaining than past book clubs. I mean who can say that they spend an entire night talking about books, eating so much sugar, singing to old songs, perfect book boyfriends, and then playing Watch ya Mouth to end the night??

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions.
