5 Reasons The Beach Is My Happy Place

Nothing gets me more excited then packing up my car and heading down to the beach. For as long as I can remember, many summer days with my family were spent at the beach. If it wasn't vacation, it was a fun day trip spent with ice cream and boogie boarding. Just to have some time away is always needed. It has always been a nice escape. Over the years I fell more and more in love with the warm sand in between my toes, and the never ending picture of waves coming and going. It has became my escape, my aesthetic and my happy place.

1. Always something to do.

From laying on a blanket in the sand soaking up the sun, swimming through the waves or taking a nice walk looking for shells there is an endless amount of things to do here. One of my have aspects of the beach is the community it has. Each beach has its own vibes that it gives off from the people and the atmosphere and I love that.

2. Sunsets.

What could be better than laying down or swimming in the warm water at 8 p.m. watching the beautiful sun set. The sun sets wherever you go, but at the beach it's just that much better. I love the way it takes up the entire sky with beautiful cotton candy colors. It gives such a sense of peace and relaxation.

3. Memories.

When I look back at my past summers, my best memories are from going to the beach. From driving down there blasting my favorite playlist and singing along with my best friend, to feeling like a mermaid in the waves; those will be my most favorite memories. The beach has given me endless laughs that I love looking back at. Some of my best days were spent at the beach with my favorite people.

4. Relaxation.

Nothing is better than having my beach chair at the edge of the beach with the water tickling my toes. Floating in the waves or laying under the hot sun is all I need to just unwind. Whenever I just need a day to breathe and decompress, the beach is the first place I always want to go to.

5. The beauty.

I really became so aware of Gods' creation through the beach. Sitting there just taking in the beauty around me amazes me. I love watching the waves come and go, having the millions of pebbles of sand fall through my fingers and the warmth of the setting sun.

I highly recommend finding a place that makes you nothing but happy. It is so good to have a place to go when you need to just catch your breathe, and take a break from all that life is throwing at you. The beach is my happy place because of the sense of peace I feel when I am there. There is comfort in the way the waves always come back and the way the water sweeps away the sand. I love having a place to go where I am the happiest.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
