5 Reasons Why I Am Thankful For My Older Siblings

Thanks for being ones that I can constantly look up to!

Growing up, you three were the ones that I dreamed of becoming just like when I was older. At a younger age, everything you guys did I imagined doing too; playing basketball, working at the same places you did, excelling in school, going to college and being successful. Whether you realized it or not, you all are the reason I am molded into the person I am today. Your guys’ determination, hard work, great attitudes, incredible personality’s and love and respect towards everyone has been my constant drive. Every time you guys had an achievement or made a huge jump forward, that only encouraged me to do the same! Watching you guys continue to chase your dreams and accomplish your lifetime goals has been beyond amazing to witness over the years. Continue doing you! You guys are doing great!

Thanks for being ones that I can always count on for absolutely anything.

People have come and disappeared over the years but at the end of the day, I know I can always count on the three of you for anything and everything. Growing up, I could count on you for someone to play basketball with, helping me with homework and looking for advice toward any current life issue. Now, especially over this past year and a half, I can’t thank you enough for your constant support. Whether I needed advice toward college, boyfriends, a should to cry on, and hand to grasp on, a good laugh or just someone to strictly talk with, you guys have been go-to people. You guys rock!

Thanks for handing down the tips on how to handle our parents.

As there are many pros and cons to being the young sibling in the family, a huge pro is having you guys gearing me through the ropes and twist and turns with our parents. Based off your own experiences, you are able to hand down tricks and tips through certain phases I have experienced being a young adult. Thanks!

Thanks for always being the ‘protective’ older siblings

Nothing is quite as comforting than knowing you guys constantly have my back. At the end of the day, I know that you guys would do anything for me and I can’t thank you enough for that! In middle and high school, you always reminded me that whether it be with a friend or boyfriend, you guys would kick anyone’s ass who would do anything to hurt us. In college, you always check up on me making sure that I am having the time of my life, forming great relationships with people and being safe in my own surrounding environments. It’s an incredible feeling knowing that you three look out for me! Thank you.

Thanks for being the best older siblings anyone could possibly ask for!

No words can describe how thankful I am for each of you! The bond between a sibling is so unique, comforting and unbeatable and I am beyond happy to be able to share such a connection with you three. I could not have asked for more incredible older brothers and sister. You three continue to push me like no-one has before, support me through it all and express nothing but genuine love toward me. Continue being the most amazing, self-driven and kind-hearted individuals you all are. I love you three!

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
