5 Reasons Why Students Should Get Spotify Premium

As students, we've had to decide between cheap but bad or expensive but great… until now! Spotify Premium is the ultimate combination of cheap and great. You can't get better than that when you are in college and its only $9.99 a month! If you are wondering what exactly this is or if it is even worth it, here are 5 reasons why students should get Spotify Premium.

1. Access to any music

With the upgrade to Spotify Premium, you are able to listen to almost whatever you want whenever you want. Most artists make their music accessible on Spotify, and yes, Taylor Swift I am calling you out for this but it's all good now. With this upgrade, you are freely able to skip through songs, playing anything on demand and have uninterrupted listening with no advertisements; which to me sounds pretty good already.

2. Listen to music anywhere at any time

Spotify Premium enables you to download playlists offline, which allows you to listen even at times with no service or just on airplane mode. As a commuter student and someone who is still on her parent's phone bill, long train rides and walks are extremely boring and I am not trying to waste data and run up my phone bill, thanksverizon, so this is a great option. Plus, you would be set for music on a road trip. I have done this plenty of times and it is so much easier to download different playlists before a road trip instead of listening to the Adele 25 CD over and over again, or whatever you like to listen to.

3. Playlists that help you study

I am the type of person that needs to listen to music, or at least have something on in the background when doing work or studying. I find myself getting distracted because I obviously want to listen to songs I like but get way too into the lyrics and just lose all hope in doing any work. But with Spotify Premium, there are a plethora of study playlists that you are able to access and listen to. These study playlists tend to be instrumentals, classical, or acoustic relaxing and focus intensive music. You can try different ones out and see which one(s) works best for you. Some of my favorites are Peaceful Piano, Instrumental Study, and Perfect Concentration.

4. Not just limited to music

Sure, access to any music anytime is pretty cool, but with Spotify Premium, you're not just limited to music! Audiobooks may not be for everyone but if they are right up your alley then this is a great option. Audiobooks and poems can now be listened to! Going along with road trips, doing homework or even just running errands, downloading and listening to an audiobook will help pass the time. Classics like The Great Gatsby and Pride and Prejudice are just two of the many audiobooks you can listen to thanks to Spotify Premium. If you are looking for a good read, like I always am, this is a great alternative to traditional books; “which is like so 20th century”.

5. Spotify Premium for Students

Had to save the best for last! As students, words like “discount” and “now with Hulu”, should peak your interest already. If you thought $9.99 a month was a great deal, listen to this! Now with the new Spotify Premium for Students, just with a bit a verification to prove you are a student, you are able to access Spotify Premium with Hulu and only for the discounted price of $4.99 a month for both! You may be thinking to yourself, “Wait really? Only $4.99 a month for access to a world of music and a world of movies and TV shows?”, the answer, to put it briefly, is “Yes, yes you can”.

These are just a few things that come with the upgrade to Spotify Premium and hopefully, these 5 reasons have convinced you to get it! Hope you enjoyed!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
