5 Reasons Why Stephen Curry Is Everyone's Favorite Ballplayer
Hip Hop Sports Report

Let's be honest, over the past couple years, Stephen Curry — aka the baby-faced assassin — has been a household name and recognized NBA star all over the globe. The Golden State Warriors point guard not only shattered several records since entering the league in 2009, but he has several other admirable traits that America fell in love with. If you say you don't like Steph Curry, then you probably suck. Here are five reasons Stephen Curry deserves his success — and perhaps should be president of the United States.

1. He started from the bottom.

Steph Curry isn't your common NBA player who got heavily scouted from high school by top-tier schools in the country. No, Curry got scouted by Division 1 Davidson college in North Carolina. Steph committed to Davidson and set many records there before getting drafted to the Golden State Warriors. Curry was doubted and all of his weaknesses were plastered for everyone to critique. Despite all of the adversity, Curry worked hard and is now arguably the best shooter of all time, breaking new records every year.

2. He keeps breaking records and stacking up achievements.

Curry has set many records since joining the Warriors. Of course, the Warriors won the Finals in 2015 thanks to Curry and an assortment of other Warriors, but Curry alone holds many achievements. Heres just a few: 3X NBA three-point field goal leader, 2X NBA free throw percentage leader, NBA MVP, Most consecutive games, scoring at least one three-pointer, ESPY award for best male athlete and best NBA player, NBA regular season record for made three-pointers and BET award for sportsman of the year. BOSS status to say the least. Chef Curry with the pot boy!

3. He's a family man.

Ultimate couple goals award goes to the Currys! They're America's favorite family. Steph and his wife, Ayesha, met at a young age and continue to grow with each other despite the sudden fame that came upon them. This family, which now includes daughters Riley and Ryann, is a breath of fresh air because the NBA is so used to seeing players involve themselves with several girls and not staying faithful to one. He even has his wife's initial "A" on his wedding finger since he can't wear his ring during games! How cute! Although, who wouldn't get her initial on their finger — Ayesha is a stunner.

4. He's God-fearing.

No matter how much attention and money Steph gets, he always gives the glory to God. Too often we see people lose sight of what's really important, but the Currys continue to use their platform for the glory of God. Steph has "I can do all things..." on his shoes, which references Philippians 4:13. Good job, Steph. Keep using your fame for good. Someone somewhere is learning from you.

5. He's humble, but confident.

The reason we love Curry so much is because he goes out on the court and balls out and tries hard every time, but always refers the credit back to others. Curry is always happy for his teammates and their achievements. Curry is someone this league has been waiting for for a long time because of all he stands for and the records he continues to break. Curry, we will never get tired of watching you ball.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
