5 Reasons Why Plato's Closet Is The Best

If you're anything like me, you love all things fashion. Whether it's dressing up for a night out, or sliding into your favorite pair of skinny jeans for a coffee run, fashion is something that allows us to express ourselves in the most creative way.

So, when I discovered Plato's closet, I knew that I had died and gone to fashion heaven.

If you've never heard of Plato's closet, it's basically the greatest place on earth, next to Chipotle and Disney World. It's a store worth talking about, and I don't want to get too into what it's about just in the intro! Just stick around to find out the five reasons why Plato's Closet is the best thing to ever happen to the fashion world.

1. You can sell your clothes!

The entire stock of clothing that you see in Plato's Closet stores are entirely from people like you! From shirts, dresses, shoes, and jewelry, you're bound to find something you like in the store! Basically, you bring in your clothing and accessories that have been gently used and have been in stores in the past year and a half. After going through what they feel that will sell in their stores, they'll give you cash on the spot! It's as simple as that!

2. Every store is unique!

From the employees to the clothing being sold, not every store will sell the exact same clothes, and that's okay! This presents the opportunity to jump from store to store picking up different fashion items that suit your taste!

3. Designer clothing at a cheap price!

Ever wanted a pair of Steve Madden sandals priced as little as eight dollars? Well, now's your chance! Plato's sells their clothing for about 70% less of what they were originally sold for in department stores! For example, if you find a bag there that originally cost $100 in department stores, Plato's may sell it for about $30! It's a win-win situation!

4. Boys are welcome!

Fashion isn't just for girls, and Plato's recognizes this. Boys can also bring in their clothes to sell and shop around for some new clothing pieces! The more the merrier!

5. It's a high-quality thrift store!

Picture the most dazzling second-hand store you've ever seen, including brands such as Forever 21, Steve Madden, PINK, American Eagle, and more! Who could possibly say no to finding a great pair of jeans at a decent price?

Long story short, Plato's Closet strives to sell in-style, gently used clothing for a fraction of the original cost! I've been a huge fan of this company since my sophomore year of high school, and now I'm proud to say that I work for this amazing company!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
