5 Reasons Why People Watch 'The Bachelor'

Throughout my 19 years of watching television shows, I have to say that "The Bachelor" will always be a guilty pleasure. Yes, I know that it is a complete waste of time. Yes, I know that pretty much everything about this show is incredibly ridiculous. And yes, I know that I could be spending those two hours a week on something productive. Does that stop me from watching the train wreck? No way. You see, there are many reasons why people watch "The Bachelor." I have compiled a list together of some of the key reasons why people devote their time to this one-of-a-kind show.

1. The drama

If anything about this show captivates viewers the most, I would have to say it's this. The drama on "The Bachelor" is honestly insane. The contestants on this show will go from 0-100 real quick. You will watch women sob over having to share their "future husband," throw themselves down flights of stairs for attention, sabotage relationships and much more. There's nothing more entertaining than that.

2. The crazy job descriptions

The job descriptions are always fun to laugh about. I would love for Tiara to write a book about her full time job of being a Chicken Enthusiast. I am sure McDonald's, Wendy's and Chick-fil-A would be more than happy to get some of her input!

3. The freedom to be as judgmental as you want

As awful as that sounds, it is very true. People are more inclined to be judgmental and catty, mostly because they know their opinions don't actually matter in the grand scheme of things. During those two hours a week you can be as judgmental as your heart desires. This show can really bring out the shallowness in everyone, which is both amusing and awful.

4. The anticipation

All of the long drawn out pauses, overplayed dramatic background music and surprising twists only add to the overall anticipation of the show. Viewers love to be on the edge of their seats. Can you blame us? After spending an embarrassing number of hours watching this reality show, we deserve all the shock value we can get. It makes our normal lives so much more fun.

5. Ben Higgins

Well, well, well. Look at who we have here. The one and only... Ben Higgins! America's newest bachelor! The one who won our hearts during Kaitlyn's season! Obviously, Ben is an important reason to watch "The Bachelor." (Ben, if you are reading this, I hope that you know we are all rooting for you. The last thing Bachelor Nation wants is another Juan Pablo. So please, make us proud.)

I hope that these reasons have given you a clearer understanding as to why people watch "The Bachelor!"

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.

No matter how functionally dysfunctional your friend group may be, if you're anything like me, you feel absolutely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of humans to call "your people."
