In my 20 years of life I have come to terms with the fact that November is absolutely the best month of the year. First of all, there is something so special about the aroma in the air around this time of year. The mornings are crisp and the sky is the most beautiful shade of blue. (I still do not know why we don't even get this blue of a sky in the summer.)

1. Sweater Weather!

The temperature of November is just perfect. It is not too cold yet, but cold enough for you to cozy up in your favorite sweater. Lets face it, fall has the cutest fashion, and November gives you the perfect opportunity to be your ~trendiest~ self. You can walk around with that gorgeous backdrop of colorful leaves and not feel like you're bearing the tundras of winter or the deserts of summer. November is the last month of fall- that is, the last month to enjoy all these perks!

2. Thanksgiving!

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of the three F’s : Family, Food, and Friends. If you're like me, I just listed your three favorite things. Thanksgiving is such an appreciative holiday and allows us to really enjoy the presence of our loved ones. Oh yeah, and don't forget the food. This is simply the only holiday where one person can eat more than a family of four and it is seen as completely normal. That extra slice of pie doesn't phase you in the slightest. That reminds me, November is when all things pumpkin are in full swing. Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin bread, Pumpkin spice latte, you name it. November is the king of holidays!

3. Black Friday!

Black Friday: You have already thrown that diet out the window so why not throw away the wallet too and get a new flat screen? The day after thanksgiving, millions of Americans crowd the mall like the doors hold the secret potion to anti-aging. There’s nothing someone won't do for a good deal. You can begin to shorten that Christmas to-do list and also revamp your own wardrobe in just one mall visit! Is November becoming increasingly convincing?

4. Santa’s Coming!

Who doesn't love hot cocoa by the fire with some Christmas music? No one! November, specifically after thanksgiving, gives you the go ahead to start getting into that Christmas spirit. The neighbors won't call you crazy for starting to put wreaths on the windows, and your roommates just might not yell at you for playing your Christmas playlist non-stop.

5. Victories and Voting!

There are plenty of victories to be had in November. One being the fact that we turn the clocks back. Who would complain about getting an extra hour in the day? Another is all the races to be had. November is full of Gobble Jogs and Turkey Trots for burning off all those extra thanksgiving calories. Lastly, there is almost always some kind of election to be had in November. While some can’t even bear going to vote for one of the two presidential candidates this year, others use this month to be thankful of their civic liberties to vote!

Now if I still haven't sold you yet, November is also "No shave November". While this happens to be my least favorite part of this flawless month, I know all too well that there are plenty of man-beard loving ladies out there that go gaga over "movember".

As Halloween comes to a close and everyone is able to recuperate from the weekend's mistakes, get ready for the best month ever and make this November your greatest one yet!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
