5 Reasons Why Kids Are The Best

I am a people person, but honestly, kids are my absolute favorite. They are usually so outgoing, and even if they're not, they'll probably surprise you at some point in the conversation by saying something hilarious that they definitely meant for you to take seriously. Here are 10 reasons why I adore children:

1. They have no filter.

Seriously though, when I was little I went up to a guy with tattoos in a store and asked him why he "markered" all over himself. I didn't care that he was a stranger, it just kind of fell out of my mouth. The kids I babysit also never have a filter. I've heard things like "don't you wear those ugly shoes every time you come to watch us?" But it can't hurt your feelings because they're too cute.

2. They sometimes surprise you with profound knowledge.

This one always throws me for a loop. I babysat a five year old that talked his injured brother out of crying by saying "everyone goes through pain, and you are strong so you can make it through this." I'm almost positive it was after he hit his crying brother, but it was still useful wisdom!

3. They always tell you how they really feel.

Sometimes, this can be a good thing. When one of my kiddos told me that I was the funniest person they'd ever met, I almost cried. I'm not a crier, but that right there almost got me. They'll also tell you if you're not funny, if you're "fat," if you're slow, and pretty much everything negative too.

4. Their imaginations make them so animated.

The kids I babysit love playing the lava game where the floor is made out of lava and you have to jump to different pieces of furniture without touching the floor. I've never seen someone freak out so much as one of them did when they were starting to lose their balance on the chair.

5. They are way more fun than adults.

Don't get me wrong, adults can be pretty cool. I'm technically an adult and I've had kids tell me I'm cool, so I guess I'm okay, but most adults are just lame. I've seen my kiddos walk up to their parents pretending to be an evil dragon, and instead of the parent becoming a knight trying to save the princess, they just say "that's cute honey." Um hello, they're an evil dragon they're not trying to be cute.

These are just a few of the reasons that I love kids. There are probably tons of other reasons I could come up with, but it would take all day. So if you're having a bad day and want some laughter, go find a kid to talk to.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
