We all have our favorites. Our favorite book, favorite movie, favorite food, album, etc. Disney's Frozen is my favorite movie for several reasons, but I have narrowed it down to five major points.
1. "Frozen" shows how a girl does not need a guy to save her or to show her true love.
I know that Frozen is not the first Disney movie to show this, but I honestly appreciate the sister representation of true love. I have a little sister who means the world to me, so I am proud to show her a movie that can happily represent my love for her.
2. "Frozen" shows how love honestly works.
Anna thinks Hans is her true love, and when she is wrong, she handles the realization well. Disney captures the concept of false love, break ups, and then moving on and finding an actual true love. I can deeply relate to this in my own personal life, so I identify with Frozen extremely well.
3. "Frozen" shows complexity in families
In Frozen, Anna and Elsa started out as extremely close in their relationship together, but it quickly changed as her powers were discovered. This represents how families are constantly changing and how all families and family members are different. This is one of the first Disney movies to show a "broken" family, and it makes the film much more honest and real.
4. "Frozen" adds an element of fun and magic
Elsa's icy powers present a fun element of the movie and open up the eyes of both kids and adults. The creativity always amazes me when I watch Frozen. It honestly makes me incredibly happy each time I watch.
5. The music is amazing
The musicians who put the selections together are truly talented and love what they do. The music in this movie is just down right amazing, and is arguably some of the best music ever written for a Disney movie. It also helps that Broadway alum and superstar Idina Menzel was chosen to play Elsa because she was able to bring such a powerhouse voice to the character while she was singing "Let It Go."
A lot of people judge me because I am obsessed with this movie, but I think it is truly a great work of art!
