We all have pride in our alma-maters and defend why our universities are the best. Friends University is where I happily call home. I read another article a few months back about how K-State ranked as the most beautiful university in Kansas. You're incorrect, and I'll tell you why! :)
1. One word: Davis.
Have you SEEN our illustrious clock tower building? Not only does it look beautiful, it's even cooler on the inside (like a TARDIS). The Davis building is also known as the central hub for everything, and those stairs give students a great workout on the way up! Not to mention how it looks during Christmastime. If you don't take a photo of Davis as a student, do you even go here?!
2. Alumni Auditorium
The stained glass windows make this building light up with life and beauty. This is the jewel inside the Davis building, where chapel takes place once a week. It makes for a beautiful concert and worship venue.
3. Paul's Pond
To be honest, I've had dreams of being proposed to at Paul's Pond. This little gem has a perfect walking path, and lights surrounding the clean water, complete with ducks and geese that call it home. It's a perfect place to sit and think, have a quiet conversation, and peaceful walk.
4. Rose Window Plaza
This gem is just outside of Davis, and add a little extra flair in the center of our campus. Students walk from class to class by the plaza, and it's probably the second most photographed spot on campus.
5. Sebits
This place may seem modest, but the sounds that echo from Singing Quakers, Concert Choir, and our jazz musicians stand the test of time. I'll argue that it's the most beautiful spot on campus. If you haven't seen Symphony of Spring in here, you're missing out.
Thanks for taking a "tour" of our gorgeous campus! I hope that more people will know of this little paradise that many students call home in good ol' Wichita, Kansas. God bless you, and we hope you'll come visit or even attend Friends!
