After 10 seasons of laughter, tears and a whole lot of love, "Friends" still withstands the test of time. Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey resemble the close knit friend group everyone aspires to be in. It was nominated for 62 Emmy Awards and ranked 21 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time. Here are just 10 reasons why "Friends" is the best 90's show:
1. It's relatable
Every situation that the characters go through is something that an everyday person could relate to. Whether it's Rachel running out on her marriage, Chandler changing careers, or Joey trying to make it as an actor, all of these have the viewers saying, "that could be me."
2. Chandler and Monica's Relationship
Chandler and Monica have the most interesting relationship out of all of the characters. They started out as just friends and then their bond flourished into something more. Both of them teach us that relationships take patience, love and respect for them to work.
3. "I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too"
Right from the opening credits, the catchy theme song starts playing. It's a carefree song that makes you want to get up and dance. The underlying message in the song is to always be there for your friends, no matter what.
4. The friends themselves
Everyone knows a neat freak Monica, a funny Chandler, an eccentric Phoebe, a flirt Joey, a spoiled first season Rachel, and a smart Ross. Although they may be different people, together they make "Friends."
5. Life doesn't always have to follow a plan
A planned life is nothing close to what the characters get. Rachel and Ross didn't plan to have Emma, Monica and Chandler didn't plan to get together, Phoebe and Mike met on a blind date. No matter the situation, the characters still have the best life possible in the end.
No matter how many times the show is watched, it never gets old. The jokes, lines and characters are timeless. Could it be any more relatable?
