5 Reasons Why Fall is the Superior Season

As summer comes to a close, let this be a reminder that fall is better than summer.

Okay, so I'm 100% positive everyone won't agree with me on this. However, as someone who cannot stand the heat and sweats bullets when I get just a little bit too warm, the fall is a much more enjoyable time of year for me. If you happen to agree with me, kudos to you! If you prefer the summer, how??

1. I don't have a heat stroke every time I step foot outside.

The temperature itself is probably one of the biggest reasons I prefer fall over summer. During the summer, I tend to stay in the house (you know, where the A/C is) because I don't enjoy feeling as if I'm going to melt into the ground. Fall gives me just enough cold so that I can enjoy being outside and also not be knee deep in snow. To add on, I can always make myself warmer in cold weather, but it's nearly impossible to cool down when it's 90+ degrees outside if I'm not inside somewhere.

2. My fall clothes are exponentially cuter than my summer clothes.

My fall clothes are exponentially cuter than my summer clothes.

If you dropped me in the middle of a mall with no budget, there's a large chance that I come out with an absurd amount of scarves, jackets for days, boots, flannels, sweaters, and any other kind of cold weather clothing item. What you won't find (or at the very least, not find a lot of) are shorts, tanks, flip flops, and dresses. Personally, I can do a lot more with clothes for the cold than I can with little clothing.

3. The arrival of fall means the start of a new semester.

I may or may not be alone in this, but I enjoy the start of a new semester. To me, the fall represents new goals, new classes, new grades, and the illusion that I have my life together. I always feel more organized and prepared to seize the academic year. And, let's be honest, I'm ready to go back to school a week into summer anyway. It's one thing to be bored at school. It's a completely different feeling being bored at home :/

4. Halloween. Duh.

I don't care how old I get, Halloween will continue to be one of my favorite holidays. I may not go trick-or-treating anymore, but it's fun to see the little kids in my family get dressed up and scarf down every all their candy. Halloween time also brings about Goosebumps marathons and all the scary movies one's heart desires.

5. Fall activities, food, etc.

Candy apples, haunted houses, hay rides, apple cider, Thanksgiving, pumpkin spiced everything... I don't see how anyone could willingly deny themselves the sweet, sweet pleasures that autumn brings. For me, enjoying all the "fall things" were ten time better when I shared them with my friends and family. It's a wonderful time for everyone.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
