5 Reasons Why Fall Is My Favorite Season

Here I am! Well, I'm Hispanic ... but you get the point. From the turning of the leaves on the trees, to the "Halloweentown" re-runs that I will NEVER get sick of, the beginning of my absolute favorite season is finally here, and all I can do is jump for joy. Hopefully after reading this, maybe you will too. Here are five reasons as to why Fall is the best season of the year.

1. Seasonal Foods

One of my favorite things about fall is the seasonal junk food. So yes, its probably me holding up the line at the grocery store with 10 boxes each of Mallomars, Count Chocula cereal, and various pumpkin spice flavored items. And no, I am not in any way remorseful, as I've been waiting all year for this very moment. Can you blame me? All of this stuff is only here for the season! You have to stock up while its still on the shelves!

2. Seasonal Candles

Something so great about Fall is the abundance of seasonal scents that come out. You can bet I am first in line at Bath and Body Works or Yankee Candle when the fall line launches. Why, you might ask? Simply because there is nothing better than the warm, fuzzy feeling you get when opening the door to your room, invited by the beautiful smell of a candle. Whether it be one that smells like Leaves, one that smells like Pumpkins, one that smells like Roasted Marshmallows, or one that smells like Apple Cider, its all heavenly to me.

3. Pumpkin Picking/Carving

I'm sure everyone has memories of going on a hayride and afterwards, running through a pumpkin patch in search of the very best one. The very best part of it all? Taking that pumpkin you picked, and carving it into a toothy happy face, or maybe a scary face while your mom makes seasoned pumpkin seeds.

4. Fall Clothing

Ah yes, it is time for the fall wardrobe. You'll never need to utter the words "I have nothing to wear" because this is the season you are always so very well prepared for. From super warm, oversized hoodies to flannels and sweaters, you have it all, and cannot wait to sport your fall favorites with leggings, infinity scarves and riding boots.

5. Autumn Leaves

Surely once they've all fallen, it's a sad time. But when the leaves are still attached to the trees and they have changed colors, it is by far one of the most beautiful things to see in nature. The air is crisp, slightly chilly, and one by one, those beautiful green-turned-orangey leaves all fall down. Even though I'm no longer a kid, I still have to fight the urge to pile them all together and jump right in.

So if you cannot tell by this article, I am nothing but excited that Fall is upon us and hope that you are as well. Seeing as this special season only comes around once a year, I strongly urge you all to embrace this Fall season for everything its worth. Go pumpkin picking, have a "Halloweentown" movie marathon with your friends, light a candle (or two, or three,) whatever makes your heart content in celebrating this awesome season. Happy Fall, ya'll!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
