“You’re my person." If you are a fan of "Grey’s Anatomy" as I am, this line is familiar and memorable. The quotation is a description of a relationship so strong that it goes beyond the definition of friends or even best friends. When one considers someone their “person," they are declaring that this person is their go-to in any situation, good or bad.
Everyone should have this type of relationship and here are five reasons why:
1. Everyone needs someone to be 'dark and twisty' with
As clearly demonstrated by Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang, sometimes you just can’t be happy and bubbly. We all have our dark moments and who better to help you through it than your “person?"
2. Everyone needs a 'person' to tell them when they look a little rough
Sometimes we just don’t look our best, whether it’s a bad hair day or an outfit that doesn’t quite work, we need someone who will be honest and let us know. But, it can’t come from just anyone, we need a “person” to tell us the comments that we would consider rude from others.
3. Everyone needs someone to have sleepovers with
No matter what age an individual may be, there will be those horrible days that warrant a sleepover so they can talk it out or just have a fun night with their “person."
4. Everyone needs someone to cut them out of their wedding dress
We all go through bad relationships, and whether it's just a simple breakup or your fiancé leaves you at the alter like Cristina Yang, you need your “person” there to help you cope and recover, and possibly cut you out of your wedding dress.
5. Everyone needs someone to have a 30-second dance party with
Sometimes you just need to let your guard down and "dance it out."
