Some say a diamond's a girl's best friend, but I'm assuming she never owned a dog. I personally believe that dogs are the real MVP, and here's why:
1. Dogs are so freakin’ cute
I mean come on, how could anyone not love a dog? With the fluffy fur, the “always happy” appearance and the energetic tail wag, they are the most adorable thing to look at. They can range from small to large, dark to light, furry or sleek, there is a dog for everyone.
2. They know when to comfort you
My dog's sense when I am upset and that is typically when the run over to me and attack my face in attempt to make me me feel better. This means so much to me because they have a way of saying the words without saying anything.
3. They’re good cuddlers
Yes, they get a little riled up and sometimes cuddling is the last thing they plan on doing. But around 10 P.M., when they start to get sleepy, they come over to me and lay their head on my lap and fall asleep. This is something I honestly miss so much at college.
4. They get excited to see you
As a local of St. Louis, Missouri Baptist isn’t too far from home. I usually take the 45 minute drive home once a week. Every time I come home, my dogs eagerly jump with excitement to see me. This excitement usually lasts about 30 minutes, usually dying down when they get into yet another one of their playful fights. It breaks my heart not being able to see them every day but I’m thankful they still remember me.
5. They offer protection
Many people have a fear of dogs, yeah I know hard to believe right? Well sometimes this is an advantage. My puppies just developed their “adult” bark, and it’s a little frightening to some people. My poodle, who weighs six pounds, has this belief that she is extremely tough. In an event where they believe I’m in danger, my dogs let out a warning bark, if that doesn’t work they attack. While I’ve never been an any real danger, just fights with my brothers and whatnot, I know they have my back.
My dogs became my family, I love them with all my heart. I hope everyone is as lucky as me to have dogs as their best friends.
