Summer has been great and all, but I am definitely ready to head back to the Grandest of Forks. I have loved being able to see my older friends and reconnect. I mean what isn't to love about bragging to all of your friends about your first college experience. But in Grand Forks I am just a phone call away from friends instead of miles. I am able to have some of my freedom back. I get my weekends with my girls back. I get my Greek life back. And I also get to add to the many memories I have already made on that campus. Get ready sophomore year, because it’s going to be as good if not better than last year.
1.The college friend group will be united
Sure it’s been nice to be home and see all of my “old/high school friends” but I really miss the girls I spent almost every hour with. The ones who were with me during the fun nights out or cozy nights in watching movies. I miss being able to have a sleepover with just one phone call. I miss being close to one another and not on other sides of the state.
2. I can’t wait to move into my new place
Even though I may be moving into a shoebox of a room in a house full of girls, I couldn’t be more excited. Living in a sorority house will be an experience I’m sure I will never forget. There may be ups and downs throughout the year, but I know it is something I will always remember. It’ll help me grow as not only a person, but a sister.
3. Hockey (and other sporting) season(s) can’t come soon enough
What I would give to have a hockey series coming up right now is beyond insane. I’m way too excited for the excitement of hockey games. The rivalries, the game nights, the friends you share it all with. Way too excited for all of it to be back in motion again. Go Sioux!
4. Weekends out with good friends will be back once again
Summer has been fun and all but waiting for the weekends out with friends during the school year is one of the best feelings on the planet. I want my girl’s night outs back. I want to be able to get ready with my friend group and critique each other's outfits as well as help with each other's hair. I want the shared closets and the abundance of shoes to pick from. (If you couldn’t tell I really miss it)
5. New memories will be made
If this year is anything like the last, I can’t wait for what is in store. New memories, friends, experiences, and the chance to expand my horizons. It can only go up from here. The memories made this year I hope to be as good if not better than last year, and the UND campus has yet to disappoint me.
