5. Nittany Lion Football

There is only one word to truly describe the Penn State football experience: exhilarating. The first time I went to a football game, I was blown away. Being around 107,601 other people screaming and cheering for their team is electrifying. No matter which game you go to, the energy is always through the roof. Beaver Stadium is the second largest stadium in America, and the third largest in the world. The atmosphere is one that everyone needs to endure, and it's one of the reasons why Penn State is the best place for a college experience.

4. Campus

Walking on campus is a treat, to say the least. The architecture on campus is beautiful and really gives you the "university feel" that all colleges should. Penn State is always renovating, and though at times you may wonder what else the campus could possibly need, the construction will never fail to astonish you. One building on campus really sticks out, and that's Old Main. Old Main (pictured above) was built in 1863 and still stands as Penn State's most alluring piece of architecture today. However, it is just one of the dozens of buildings on campus that makes University Park so elegant.

3. Greek Life

Greek life is the one thing that I knew absolutely nothing about coming into my freshman year. I had heard that Penn State had a big greek population, but I knew nothing about what it consisted of. Looking back, joining greek life was the best decision of my college career so far. I've made friends that will last me a lifetime. Having a family of my own, outside of my family at home, is truly an amazing feeling. From the social aspect to raising money for the kids, the memories that I have made so far will stay with me forever.

2. Thon

Words cannot describe Thon. The amount of work that the Penn State students put into it is remarkable. From the fraternities and sororities to the Thon organizations and other clubs on campus, nearly everyone on campus is involved in Thon. Working for the kids is such a great feeling. It all leads up to the 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon for children with pediatric cancer. The experience of Thon simply cannot be matched, and makes you grateful to be a Penn State student.

1. Alumni/job opportunities

Penn State offers some amazing job opportunities. From the numerous career fairs each semester to the colossal amount of alumni, PSU has some of the best opportunities out there. There are 161,234 members of the Penn State alumni association, making it the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world. This gives students a vast amount of opportunities to find jobs. Despite everything that students enjoy during their time at University Park, the most important aspect of college is the job opportunities that you receive once you graduate. This is just one more reason why Happy Valley is the best place to be.

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
