The wonderful season of fall, or autumn. The season where the weather is perfect again since spring and our outdoor surroundings consists of multicolored leaves everywhere. Here's a just a few reasons why lots of people are excited for autumn!
1. Fall Clothes
Jackets, scarves, jeans, and boots, oh my! While I can't speak for guys, we girls consider fall our favorite season of the year when it comes to fashion. We're obsessed with paring our outfits with all kinds of boots-- riding, combat, ankle, cowboy, you name it! Another big thing is scarves, when it's nicer outside we'll wear a lighter, usually printed scarf. If it's more chilly outside, we'll wear a thicker, more woolly scarf. Military jackets have also been trending these past couple of falls since they're not so bulky and keep warm during the cooling fall weather.
2. The Fall Starbucks Menu
The pumpkin spice revolution is back! Thanks to the mass popularity of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte, once you walk into any grocery store, you will be showered by everything pumpkin spice. There's pumpkin spice cakes, pies, cookies, milk, coffee creamer, and the list goes on and on to extend all the way to chewing gum, shampoo (dog shampoo included), beef jerky, pasta sauce, and even alcohol (read more about the insane PSL products out there here). I personally have tried the PSL and Salted Caramel Mocha in both latte and frappuccino forms and I like the salted caramel mocha much better (I like the frappe version a bit more than in latte form but they're both really good). I'm a bigger fan of caramel than pumpkin, so the SCM is my number 1 pick from the list. Ever since they announced the new Chile Mocha, I have wondered what it would taste like. I can't really grasp the idea of having something so sweet with a hint of spicy at the same time. I'll just have to buy myself one next week and find out for myself.
3. Fall Holidays
During fall, two of our favorite holidays occur: Halloween and Thanksgiving. Halloween is exciting because it's the one holiday where we get to dress up as anything our minds can create and walk around random rich people's neighborhoods all in the sake of getting good free candy. Thanksgiving is also exciting because it is the day where our families come together with turkey (or sometimes in my case, tacos and tamales), pie, mashed potatoes with gravy, and other glorious classic fall dishes and reflect on all the things that we are thankful for this past year, all in the sake of piling up our shopping carts at 1:00 am with even more things after being grateful for what we already had just a couple of hours ago.
4. Cooler Weather
With the cool, soothing breeze against one's skin, fall is my favorite season equivalent to spring because the weather is just right. It's not too hot or too cold. Plus the falling leaves makes a great background for a photo shoot anywhere. Also with the cooler weather I can enjoy my favorite fall outfits and warm drinks again, and do fall activities such as visiting the yearly county fair, picking out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, or simply sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather.
5. Football Season
September 8th marked the beginning of the regular NFL football season, and since I am not really much of a football fan, I know a lot of football fans and still needed to point out the fact that football season has indeed finally begun.
