5 Reasons My Dad Is My Best Friend
Portaits By Cinda

We can all probably name moments in our life where our dads have been the one person to hold us together. We can all imagine them cheering you on and taking proud pictures as you get your college acceptance letter. Dad’s truly are the best, here are a few reason why…

1.He is your biggest cheerleader

He will be at every sporting event, in stands screaming about how #18 is his daughter and how proud he is. He took pictures for every dance, making sure everyone agreed with him that you had the most beautiful dress. He was at graduation, taking more pictures as you made your way across the stage praying didn’t trip and fall.

2. He will prepare you for the real world

Interviews, problematic situations, budgets, housing. You name it, he can help you out. He calls you before interviews to make sure you are prepared. He helps you figure out housing situations, making sure you find the best place. He helps you budget and figure out money, cause it’ll take a miracle to stop spending money. He’s there for it all, making sure you prepared and ready to adult.

3. He knows the mind of a boy better than you do

We all think going to our moms is the best way to deal with boy situations. They already dealt with the high school and college boys. They know how to deal with that boy that sucks and everyone warned you about but you didn’t listen. But in reality, the best person you can turn to is your dad. Why? Because believe it or not, he used to be a high school AND college boy!!! He knows the way they work better than any mother because he had the same mind. Not to mention, he will kick their butt if they hurt you. Which brings me to my next point….

4. He will listen to the tears and heartbreak.

No matter what it is, if you are crying he will be there to pick you up. If you fail a test, make a regrettable decision, or get in a fight with your best friend he will be there to cheer you up with lots of lunch dates. He will make sure you know your worth is not in the grades, or the past mistakes. He will make sure you know that he thinks you are the best human on the planet and anyone would be lucky to have you as their best friend.

5. You will always be his little girl

Whether you are his oldest, youngest, or only daughter, you are his little girl. You are his pride and joy. He holds you to a standard that no one else does. He makes sure you are doing your best and makes sure he knows you make him proud. Even when you signing the lease to your first apartment, he still only sees the little first grader that would sit on the couch and snuggle up next to him during family movies.

Every girl has those moments growing up where you want to kick and scream at everything your parent says. You think they are ruining your life. You think they are out to get you. Then you get to college and realize they were actually not doing that all and you were just a problematic child. For me, I had multiple moments like this with both parents. However, during the last couple years, I have been much more problematic for my father. I honestly don’t know how he put up with me sometimes but he did and wow he’s t

Going to the gym and working out on a daily basis (with breaks once in awhile) has been a great way for me to feel good about myself. It is 100% more than just looking good. Especially after starting college and having the stress and anxiety of tests, assignments, and just figuring out my future, the gym at my school has definitely been a place of relief for me and I have numerous reasons of why everyone should push themselves to get to the gym when they can.

Oh college, lovely, lovely college. A four-year time span that is filled with many highs and many lows. Between procrastinating on an essay that is due at midnight to getting your first library card (if you know what I mean), college is a time that you should not take for granted, yet it is also a time where you feel like your entire world is falling apart. It is a time where one day you can feel like you are on top of the world and then the next day you are 500 feet below the ground surface.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.
