Haven is a sy-fy murder mystery show on Netflix and it's amazing. It's set in the town of Haven, Maine, where a lot of supernatural things happen. The people of Haven have "troubles" that are triggered by tragic events in their lives and manifest in real life to put people in danger and it's up to one woman to stop them. The catch? This one woman doesn't even know who she is or what she's capable of. If that little recap didn't convince you to watch this show, here are five reasons why you should watch Haven right now!

1. Gotta love a strong female lead!

Meet Audrey Parker, the FBI agent turned Haven P.D. Detective trying to find herself in a more literal way than your BFF who just broke up with her boyfriend and got a drastic haircut. This chick is awesome. She fights crime not with weapons, but with compassion and diplomacy. She is able to help people overcome their troubles to save the town time and time again.

2. Who doesn't like a good murder-mystery?

Come on, who doesn't like a good mystery? Well, this show is chock-full of them, like: Who is Audrey Parker? Where did the troubles come from? How can she stop them from hurting more people than they already have? Not to mention while Audrey is actively working to stop the troubles, she has to do her job as a Haven P.D. cop solving crimes along the way.

3. Classic love triangle

Audrey has two close guy friends named Nathan and Duke. So far in the show, she hasn't been in love with either of them, but they're both totally in love with her. I know I've chosen a guy I want her to pick, now it's your turn to pick a side!

4. The supernatural factor

The crimes you'll see on this show aren't ones you'll find on Law and Order or True Crime. These are acted out by the supernatural, which makes them much harder to fight, much less solve! And it's up to Detective Parker to figure it out! She really is the only one who can do it. Why? Well, you're just gonna have to watch to find out.

5. The creator

Okay, okay, I've been holding out on you. But I wanted you to watch the show for the amazing characters and intriguing plot, not the creator. But if I haven't hooked you yet, here you go. It's created by none other than Stephen King. If you're familiar with any of his work, you know it's going to be great. If you're not familiar with his work, what better way than to start with this show? So why are you still reading? Get to Netflix!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
