Thanksgiving is approaching very soon, and I am so excited. I love Thanksgiving; it's the first holiday that starts off the holiday season. It's a time for close family and friends. It's a time for love and a time for giving. Growing up, Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday and as an adult that hasn't changed. So, I wanna give you 5 reasons I stay excited for Thanksgiving.
1. The Food.
The food is one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving; it's what brings families together. Families usually bond over food. At the table, you catch up on the little things, you laugh about the old days and most importantly, you pray for better days. I'm excited for Thanksgiving dinner because the food keeps me full, and my family keeps me happy.
2. Family.
I have a huge family, and every holiday we all gather at my grandparents' house to spend time together. Thanksgiving is no different. Everyone comes to my grandparents' house; we sit around and watch T.V. (usually football) we pray and we eat. The little kids run around outside playing on the swing set while the older kids take advantage of the WiFi. To me, the most important part about Thanksgiving is spending time with my family.
3. The Fit.
On Thanksgiving, I swear my family tries to outdo each other. Ever since I was little we would always get dressed up on Thanksgiving. I literally buy a new outfit for Thanksgiving every year. But I will never understand why we get so dressed up because we literally don't go anywhere but to granny's house to eat.
4. The Shade.
Now I love my family to death, but when we all get together for Thanksgiving, somebody always has to throw subliminals and shade around. Whether it's my grandpa talking about somebody's baby or my cousin talking about how much food my aunt has on her plate, either way, it cracks me up, and I can't wait to hear the shade get thrown around this year.
5. The Love.
On Thanksgiving, there's nothing but smiles, hugs, kisses, and most importantly love. I feel so loved when I'm around all of my family. I love my family and know for a fact they love me. My family is very close knit, and we treat each holiday like it could be our last. Yeah, shade gets thrown, and someone always gets mad at me when I don't help clean the kitchen, but that feeling of love you get from your family is a feeling that can't be replicated. So on this Thanksgiving day, spend time with your family, and let them know how much you love them because it could be the last time you get to spend this special day with them.
