Last week, strung out on coffee and stressed to the max studying for midterms, I realized I needed a break. The stress of school and my personal life were weighing me down, so grabbed my keys and headed to Grandma's house for the weekend. A short four hour drive and a weekend with good ol' Grammy was just what I needed to regroup. Even after all of these years, visiting my grandma's house is still the best.
1. A home cooked meal.
Let's be real, any warm food counts considering I live off of Honey Nut Cheerios and pretzels.
2. A break from reality.
My grandma's house is still stuck in the 1960s. There is no WiFi or cell service. It literally forces me to take a break from life for a minute.
3. Grandma always gives you a little cash for the road:
"Do you need any money?" Yes. Yes, I do.
4. Some much-needed love:
Sometimes you just need a hug.
5. Leftovers to bring back to campus:
The real struggle is trying not to eat them all on the drive back.
