Some people think I'm insane, but this is what keeps me from being so.

5 Reasons Why I Love To Write

1. It's Relaxing

A lot of people can find writing to be stressful and hard, having to figure out what to write, how to organize it, and how to make it all "flow." I'm the exact opposite. love putting my thoughts onto paper and tweaking them so they all become one coherent thought. I find it so relaxing, sitting somewhere with just me and my laptop, pouring my thoughts onto the paper; put a cup of tea next to me, and some alternative music and you have my heaven.

2. It's Fun

If I had a dollar for every time somebody gave me a weird glance or called me crazy for this thought, I would be richer than Bill Gates (maybe). Trying to explain why I find it fun is hard, because honestly, I'm not really sure myself. I just really enjoy putting my thoughts somewhere, and writing something for people to read is so exciting to me. The idea of people reading what I have to say is so thrilling.

3. It's a Relief

To a writer, this reason is obvious. Writing is a source of therapy for us. It's a way of saying what's on our mind without really having to tell anybody if we don't want to. Also, it helps me understand exactly what I'm feeling. More often than not, my mind has so much stuff running through it that I can't think straight. However, as soon as I sit down to write, it all comes out onto the paper so easily. Writing helps me calm down when I'm upset, it helps me get my excitement out when I'm happy. It just helps me make sense of my emotions and thoughts, because putting them onto paper is so much easier than trying to explain them out loud. Writing helps me take off any weight that's on my shoulders, and that's why it's such a relief.

4. I Can Write Whatever I Want

There are no rules when it comes to writing for pleasure. I can say whatever I want, it's my thoughts, feelings, and words. However, even when it was an essay in school that I had to write, I still found it just as fun. I came up with the ideas, i came up with how to map it out, I came up with the words that I wanted to use. It's so freeing to create something that is 100% you.

5. It Helps Me Be Myself

Whenever I write, I put my whole self into it. So, if I ever feel like I'm losing who I am, or am ever confused about who I want to be, I always go back to my previous writing and remember. Even when I wasn't sure what my future was going to be, there was always something about writing that brought be back to it. It helps me understand myself, because often times, that's hard for even me to do.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
