5 Reasons To Visit Hawaii Now

Hawaii is a one vacation destination you will always want to go back to. Here's why:

1. The sunsets (and sunrises).

Guaranteed, the sunsets in Hawaii are unparalleled regardless of which island you are on. There's just something about the sun slowly melting into the Hawaiian horizon that grounds you and makes your insides all warm and fuzzy.

2. The wildlife

From an ample amount of chickens to massive humpback whales, the wildlife in Hawaii is stunning. You've never lived until you've seen a stray rooster in a grocery store or hundreds of dolphins swimming alongside your boat.

3. The scenery

This one is obvious. The beauty is within the land itself and it's like a hidden treasure, so remember that the best spots are worth hunting for. In fact, the best view (a gorgeous green-blue tide pool made from volcanic rock, "Queen's Bath" in Kauai) came after a 2 mile mud hike in the rain forest along with stray chickens and steep cliffs with a waterfall on the other side. There's actually a rock carving on the hike with a tally of people who died because they were washed out by the tide (yes, the waves are really high so check the tide report if you go), but totally worth the risk.

4. Something new.

Like I said, the best spots are worth hunting for. Hawaii is a chance to make your own itinerary and relax, so it forces you to let loose and explore! Be brave and stray away from typical tourist spots! Explore Hawaiian cuisine, clothing, and talk to the locals.

5. The culture.

Finally, the most important reason to visit Hawaii is the culture. I know it might sound similar to the people, but in all honestly, Hawaiian culture is completely different than your typical environment and we can all learn a lot from it. Hawaiian culture can teach you to appreciate your land and ocean, be grateful for your friends and family, and most importantly---let go of your worries! If you're looking to completely relax and be care free for a little bit, Hawaii is the place to be.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
