1. Reading makes you more creative.
While the author gives you the skeletal structure of the story, it is up to you to create the story. Sure, the author gives you vast descriptions of what the characters and setting look like. But at the end of the day, if you don’t like what they have described you don’t have to picture it that way.
2.You become more empathetic.
Getting lost in a book can make it easier for the reader to relate to others. Books have the power to help readers understand what other people are thinking because it provides them with a direct window to other people's emotions.
3. You get to experience new things.
Have you ever felt so connected to a book that you feel like you are experiencing it in real life? That is because your brain actually believes you HAVE experienced it. When you are reading a book, your brain does not make a distinction between what you are reading about and what you have actually experienced in real life.
4. Reading expands your vocabulary.
Reading introduces you to so many new and unique words that you never would have encountered.
5. Reading allows you to relax.
Reading a book will allows a person to become distracted from all of the things that may be stressing them out at the moment in time. For just a little while, you are able to forget about your problems and focus on someone else’s.
