Yes, joining thousands of clubs and trying to squeeze them into your already filled schedule probably isn't the wisest choice. However, joining one or two clubs that you're highly interested in will do you some good in your stressful college life.
1. Make new friends
Who doesn't want to make new friends? Especially if you're commuting and having trouble finding friends, a club is the perfect place to start.
2. Take away boredom
Never know what to do after your classes are over? While you'll still have some time to yourself a few days a week, some days will be filled with meetings or club gatherings. Only joining one or two clubs will help balance out personal life and social life.
3. Do something you love
Joining clubs that highly interest you means doing things you absolutely love a few times a week. That pretty much explains itself.
4. Meet people with similar interests
This coincides with the first reason further entails why you should join clubs. Making friends is great, but making friends that have the same interests as you is something magical. Chances are, they'll be your friends for quite a while.
5. Fill up space on resume
Especially if you end up becoming a representative, such as the President or VP, of a group, putting your clubs on the resume shows that you were an actively participating college student who didn't spend all of their time partying and staying in their dorm.
This is a very simple list of reasons to join college clubs, but these reasons can be so beneficial to you. Clubs add more fun and friends in your college schedule.
