Last year, my first year at Idaho State University, opened up a whole new world to me. New people, new living situation, new to being on my own, and new to making my own choices to get involved on campus. I saw the advertisements all over campus for Rush Week. I even seriously considered it, but chickened out when it came talking with my parents about rushing. I have regretted not rushing last year everyday since. All over campus I saw the incredible sisterhoods, the events, and most importantly I saw the memories being made. I knew that rushing was something I HAVE to experience. To every girl out there who is going through the same feeling I did, here are my personal top reasons to rush this upcoming year:

1.You create a Sisterhood that lasts forever!

When you rush into a sorority, you are not just rushing into a 'club' or an 'organization'. You are rushing into a FAMILY. The bonds I have seen between sisters all over campus is something that is so strong and incredible that it radiates to other people. Being apart of a sorority is not just something you are a part of for your college career. You are a part of it for life, meaning you have your sisters for LIFE!

2. It is a motivator to continue to excel in your studies

Everyone knows that just about anything you join will have an academic standard. Greek Life is no different. Being a member of a sorority means you are not only representing current members, you are representing the alumni, and most importantly the founders. It is vital to excel in your studies to continue to shine a positive light on your sorority and your sisters through studying hard and going to class! If that isn't a great motivator, then I don't know what is!

3. You have something to look forward to each week!

Every week there will be an established chapter meeting for your sorority. That time is time you get to spend with your sisters, the people who will become your family away from family! Granted you will get to see them anyways through out the week, but chapter meetings will be a time everyone will get to come together and continue to come up with creative ways to represent your sorority on campus!

4. You get to gain a sense of accomplishment!

The events that are put on by your sorority do not just pop up over night. There are weeks and even months worth of planning that went into every detail of the event. Not only does it take a great deal of time, but it takes a great deal of people to plan as well Each sister has their own creative ideas, and each sister has a chance to let those creative ideas flow and shine in the event. By the day of the event, you as a sister, will get to step back and look at the bits and pieces you contributed and think to yourself 'I helped create this'!

5. You will create memories that will last a LIFE TIME!

Just because you will walk across the graduation stage and earn your degree does not mean that your time in your sorority is over. You will be able to look back at all of the photos, the big little week gifts, and most importantly your letters and have all of the memories come flooding back. You will be able to pass those precious memories onto your daughter, and one day her daughters.

6. You begin to gain a larger sense of diversity

When you walk into rush week you walk in to a room filled with hundreds of girls, of all races, ethnicities, cultures, and families. The once very small world you once knew has now grown larger! You begin to gain a whole new perspective, and begin to appreciate the many different cultures that you will run into!

7.) BIG LITTLE WEEK

Being the oldest of three children myself, I have never had the 'older' sibling figure. I have always been that figure to my siblings. Once you rush, and accept your bid, you get to go through big little week! In simpler words, you get a big sister!!!

Everyone has their own personal reasons to go through rush week and enter into Greek Life. These seven for me, are my personal reasons to rush this coming fall and hopefully will inspire someone else to rush as well. But truthfully, if you are going to go through rushing the most important reason to do so, is because of the family you will build. Nothing will be more important than that.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
