"A private college? But why?" You may be asking. Well, you'd be pretty surprised by why you should! Trust me, I attend one. Here are just a few reasons as to why attending a small, private college is the bomb-diggity! Yes, I just said bomb-diggity.
1. A sense of "community."
Everyone (well, maybe not everyone, but close!) knows each other. It's just a thing. People are a bit friendlier too and you get to make some pretty amazing friends. There's just this unexplainable sense of community you get when attending a small, private college. It makes you feel like you're right at home.
2. More one-on-one time with professors.
This becomes super helpful when you just don't understand what the heck is being taught in class (ahem, all of us every day. Just saying). You get to utilize your professor's office hours—it'll make you look like a determined student! Well, at least you try to come off that way. You won't have to worry about not being able to meet up with your professor because there won't be hundreds of students trying to reach them at the same time.
3. Class sizes will be small.
You don't have to worry about not being noticed in class because there will most likely be only 20 some (or even fewer) other students. So don't worry! Your super important comments and questions will be heard in class my little nerd friend.4. Scholarship programs.
Yes, that means moolah my friend. Did you know that many students who attend private colleges receive more scholarship opportunities because their private college has a strong relationship with their alumni? Ya know, no big deal or anything. *dusting off shoulders* If this reason doesn't win you over then you must be completely insane.5. Classes are in walking distance.
Yeah, you heard me. Unlike universities, you won't have to walk all the way to Africa to get to your class. Why, you ask? Because all of your classes are in walking distance. No driving, no waiting for a bus—none of that bad crap.
Well? Did it work? Did I sweep you off your feet with those oh-so-convincing reasons? I think so. I think it worked. If you're saying, "no it didn't work," you are in denial, buddy.
