Do not adopt if you're looking for a dog that will love you unconditionally

5 Reasons To Adopt A Pit Bull

After the controversial ban of pit bulls in Montreal, Canada, the debate about whether or not pit bulls are a safe breed to own is still up in the air. As a girl who has owned pits for her entire life, I'm here to tell you that there has been no other dog I have loved more than I loved my pit. Here's a few reasons that pit bulls make the ideal pet:

1. They smile

Nothing is better than coming home and smiling at your dog, just to have them smile back at you! They always have a huge smile, tongue hanging out and their tail is always wagging. If you're having a bad day, their goofy grin is always sure to cheer you up.

2. They love to sleep (and cuddle!)

When you adopt a pit bull, you constantly have a companion that craves attention and love (or as my family calls it, "a snuggle boy/girl"). You'll never have to sleep alone--in fact, your pit will probably take up a huge part of the bed. They definitely don't realize how big they are.

3. They are great with people

One of the main concerns that people have about pit bulls is that they'll hurt their children. I'm here to put those worries to bed. If you meet a pit bull that is raised by a loving family, they're the sweetest and most loving dogs. The media gives this breed a bad rap, but they're even great with babies (young children should be taught how interact with animals, and should be supervised with any dog/cat/or other animal). Contrary to popular belief, they don't always make the best guard dogs because they are just so people-oriented.

4. They are loyal to their owners

Pit bulls will be you and your family's best friend from the minute you bring them home, to the minute they pass away. While they don't always make the best guard dogs, if they see you are in immediate danger, they may get involved. Their eagerness to please their owners is what makes them the ideal pet.

5. They love to play

Pit bulls have a ton of energy (which contributes to their bad reputation). If you've always wanted a dog you could take to the park and play endless games of fetch with, pit bulls are definitely the breed for you! Nothing is more entertaining than letting your dog out in your backyard and watching them run in circles with that big goofy grin on their adorable face.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
