In this day and age, the theatre can definitely be considered a dying art form. Yeah, sure, there are some shows such as "Hamilton" which have recently been able to break boundaries, but this is not something every live show is able to accomplish. Fewer and fewer theatres are being visited by people every year.

No, not movie theatres, I'm talking about actual theatres with a stage and hanging curtains. Sure, there are few people who still keep in touch with this rare form of expression, but for the most part, theatre lovers consist of senior citizens and people with lots of money.

Here are a few reasons why I think theatre should become embraced by culture as a popular form of art and entertainment.

1. Theatre involves Talent

Theatre people are some of the most talented artists on the planet. To be considered a strong artist in the field of theatre you must be able to act, sing and dance excellently. Not only must you be able to memorize lines, you must also be able to memorize a routine, hit all the right notes in a song, and maintain that audience interested at all times. As opposed to other art forms, theatre happens completely live, so there are no re-dos. You must be on it at all times.

2. Theatre involves Human Contact

Theatre shows, either plays or musicals, rely heavily on human participation. In fact, audience participation and active engagement are some of the most important parts of certain shows. The performance is majorly affected with how an audience is responding. Thus, the theatre is an art form that brings people together. Plays and musicals utilize the audience to fuel a performance. To truly enjoy a show, you must be aware of what's happening on stage, you cannot completely dissociate or dose off, as you would do watching a movie or a TV show.

3. Theatre involves Effort

Producing a theatre show requires lots of effort. Seriously, so much effort goes into these shows. Everything from lighting design, sound design, costume design, set design, rehearsals, choreography, running crews and so much more, is considered when putting on a show. Also, the theatre is an event. You can't just show up in your pj's, you must put effort into all aspects of preparing to go see a show, from saving for expensive tickets to planning your outfit.

4. Theatre involves Creativity

In addition to everything I've previously said, theatre people are also the most creative people on the planet. We see life through a theatrical lens, everything is a performance, everything is a chance to shine. We have artistic visions that we find ways of completely achieving and we don't stop till we achieve our creative ideas.

5. Theatre involves Magic

Theatre is about magic. It is about sitting for two hours and being immersed into a completely different world. Every technical aspect of theatre comes together to form magical ideas and places that flourish before an audience member's eyes. To me, there is nothing like experiencing a new show, live, in front of me. That's my happy place. That's why I believe everyone should see a live show at least once in their lives. Once is enough to become an addict to the magic.

Throughout school, the theater department has always been my go-to place with go-to people when I need advice, a dance party, or just someone to listen to me vent.

You never know what's going to happen when you're dealing with theatre or what kind of characters you'll encounter. We have too much fun doing anything! One time in my senior year acting class, we spent an entire class period watching Bob's Burgers, and it was the greatest class period ever.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.
