Although no day of the year will ever top my favorite day, Christmas, Thanksgiving comes as a close second, and it's because of so much more than just the food. Here are some of the many reasons Thanksgiving is such a great holiday.

1. You get to come home.

Which means you get a break from all schoolwork, and time to visit with your family, your dog, and hometown friends for a whole week.

2. BLACK FRIDAY

As soon as you're done stuffing your face, you get to go shopping and experience the best deals of the year.

3. Christmas music

Thanksgiving break is the first time that I allow myself to listen to Christmas music, because it's finally not "too early to get excited about Christmas" anymore, since it's the next big Holiday I celebrate after Thanksgiving.

4. Christmas movies

Thanksgiving is also the time that my family starts watching Christmas movies.

5. Food!

And of course, the number one reason everyone looks forward to Thanksgiving; cooking and eating all of the turkey, potatoes in all different forms, dinner rolls, pies, etc.

Even though Thanksgiving is over now, I'm already looking forward to next year!
