5 Things To Be Thankful For This Thanksgiving
Acts2Day Ministries

On the worst days, it's hard to take a step back from what's getting you down and reflect on the things that are good in your life. Even if you don't believe it, every single person has a million reasons to be thankful for the life they live and the things they're given. This Thanksgiving, and every day, remember these five simple things to be thankful for:

1. Because you're you.

You were unique when you were born and you have been unique every minute since then. Your personal uniqueness is something you should cherish because it's something that no one else can have. Other people may have the same interests as you, but no one will ever be your carbon copy. This is a really simple thing to be thankful for, but it is something that you should be thankful for nonetheless.

2. There are people that love and care about you.

Whether it be your family or your friends, there is someone that loves you and cares about you. You aren't and will never be alone in this world because there will always be someone looking out for you. You will always have someone to turn to and will always have a shoulder to cry on if you need it. Don't ever feel that you're alone.

3. You have a roof over your head and food to eat.

Some people are less fortunate and don't have a home to go to every night and don't have food to eat for every meal. This is something that you should be especially thankful for because some people have to fight for things are simple as this every day.

4. You're getting an education.

For my college friends: There are many people our age that simply don't have the funds to move forward with their education after high school, even with financial aid. College is expensive. If you're currently enrolled in college, be thankful that you have been given this opportunity. Your education is important and you should use every opportunity that you're presented with during your college career to make the most of what you've been given.

5. You're living and breathing.

It's as simple as that; you're alive. Life is short and will fly by in an instant. Cherish every moment and be thankful for everything that your life as given you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
