  1. Trump or Hillary is taking over the TV waves and the conversations all around America. No one wants to admit both candidates are equally awful. Instead of worrying about the hassle of dealing with all that stress and hardship, start the fun sci-fi Stranger Things. The episodes are long and deal with issues from the 70s. The blissful unawareness of the characters of the future will leave you with a sense of peace.
  2. Leaving your house results in common struggles like dealing with human interaction. Getting fresh air is a matter of opening windows. The real problem is figuring out the proper thing to say to another human without making them angry. If you watch Stranger Things, you can enjoy Eleven’s lack of interaction skills, and feel safe in knowing you are not alone.
  3. Police Brutality is rising in the streets, it’s unclear what is going to happen if you break the law and have to encounter the police. In Stranger Things, Hopper, the police chief, is ready to help solve the mystery of Will Byers. While you stay inside, it is statistically shown that your percentage of getting arrested drops dramatically.
  4. Decorating your home for Christmas is unnecessary when you have Joyce decorating her entire living room with tens of light strands to communicate with her son. Your home is fine, it’s clean and is perfect as long as you have a blanket, drink, and easy access to the bathroom. Besides, after the season for the decorating is over, you have to put it all away.
  5. If you cannot find someone to love, sit back and indulge yourself in the love escapade which is Nancy, Steve, and John. It’s a whole dramatic fest of who is going to come out with the girl in the love triangle. Stranger Things itself is the perfect distraction to the daily issues of 2016. Honestly, we would all be way better off if we just didn’t leave our houses.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
