In my life, I have a lot of influential people that I look up to. My sister, Remington, however, is the person who has remained constant. I wouldn't be the person I am today without her, and for that, I thank you. This week's article includes five things I admire most about Remington, my personal superhero.
1. She introduced me to the sport I love.
When I was younger, I always remembered packing the car and driving to my sister's soccer games. I watched her do what she loved, and her passion was contagious. Like any younger sister, I aspired to be just like Rem. Because of her, I told my mom I wanted to start playing. Here I am, years later, wearing her jersey number and playing each game for her.
2. She has the strength and resilience of Superwoman.
Remington has always found a way to come out of things, big or small, stronger than she was before. She has taught me to act without fear and love without limits, and do all things with passion and devotion.
3. She has finessed the driving world with remarkable talent.
From backing into the lawnmower, having nails in too many tires, and other incidents she'd hate me to reveal, it's comical. Thank you for teaching me how (not) to drive.
4. She's worked hard for her accomplishments.
Most importantly, I've learned from my sister that you have to work for the things you want to achieve. Success doesn't come easily, and especially doesn't come to those who aren't willing to work for it.
5. She knows me better than anyone else.
Sisterly bonds are always difficult while growing up – the constant fights, arguing, and stealing of clothes. However, I'm incredibly thankful for the relationship I have with my sister. Since you can't always pick your family – I'm glad I was blessed with a soul as beautiful as yours.
I love you, Rem.
