I'm not referring to Justin Bieber’s hit song “Love Yourself”, and I'm not trying to have Kanye-West-like arrogance with this subject either. I’m just stating reasons why it is important to always remember to love ourselves because I think sometimes we don't give ourselves as much love as we deserve.
(In no particular order)
1. You're a great person
I know in my last article (10 Things To Say To The Person In the Mirror), I explained a lot about how everybody is perfect, and it's true. In that article I emphasized the importance of knowing how amazing you are as a person. I talked about how every person has beauty inside and out and is completely flawless in every way. It's all true, so you should love everything about yourself because that's what makes you who you are.
2. You can't love others unless you love yourself
Some people may disagree with this, but in order to fully love and care for others, you need to first accept yourself and make sure that you are happy with who you are. Once you learn to love yourself, loving others becomes so easy.
3. Love makes things easier
After you realize how perfect you are and recognize that you love who you are, it become simple to see the world in a happier light. Establishing a love for yourself makes it easier to face obstacles because nothing is stronger than love, so you know you'll always make it through.
4. You're worthy
Yes it is important to put others first, but don't forget that you are deserving of happiness too. Remember that no matter what you do or what mistakes you make, you are still a person worth an infinite amount of love.
5. God loves you
God took time to create you. He sculpted you with love in every angle. His love for you could soar through the sky and never stop. He wants you to love yourself like He loves you. God gave you a heart so you can live to love. Use it to love each other, but remember God wants you to love yourself too.
Those are just five out of millions of reasons why you should love yourself. Remember that no matter what happens or where you go, you are worthy of love. Love what you do, love who you meet, love where you go, love who you are, love who you become, love yourself.
